Octagon Coffee Table AquariumLooking for an unusual conversation piece then maybe you should think about this great looking  Octagonal Coffee Table Aquarium.

I can’t think of a nicer way to relax after a hard day at work than sitting with and coffee and watching the colorful fish swimming around the aquarium.

Home aquariums add a great deal of color to the home and also provide a peaceful relaxing sanctuary from the hectic world outside.

Studies have shown that owning pets can help lower blood pressure. Well, what better combination is there than the joy of pet ownership mixed in with the beauty of tropical fish?

Aquariums can often be pretty big and bulky and they can take up a lot of space in smaller homes.  So this octagon coffee table aquarium is a great way to compromise, as it has the functionality of a coffee table as well as giving you beauty of a fish tank, and its low design means it can fit into small rooms.

Most aquariums are rectangular only giving you one viewing angle. Since this unit has an octagonal shape you can see your fishy friends from every side and angle even from the top down.

This aquarium comes with everything you need to get started. All you have to do is add fish and water.  It includes, a pump, lid, and vibrant blue gravel illuminated from underneath.  The entire unit sits on a stylish black elevated frame.

If you’re concerned about all the toxic commodities being shipped in from China then this aquarium will set your mind at ease. It’s made in the U.S.A of high quality materials.

One of the greatest features of this aquarium is that it’s made of acrylic not glass. This means it’s more durable and also weighs a lot less. You can move it from room to room much more easily.

We love the multifunctional design. This unit can serve as a focal point conversation piece in any living room.

And because the unit comes with everything needed to get started you won’t have to travel all over town looking for different pieces and aquarium parts to get it up and running.

Limited Edition Indian MotorcycleNothing is more nostalgic than a classic motorcycle.

Indian was once one of the storied names in bikes. They had a flair and style to them that was unrivaled by any other manufacturer.

The signature flare fenders made the Indian instantly recognizable.

Now it’s possible to recreate that look and get your kids interested in the classic bikes. The Limited Edition Indian Motorcycle is a true replica of a great bike from a bygone era.

What makes this toy such a great product is the painstaking attention to detail.  It has all the flair features of the classic bike including gold trim and working head and tail lights. It even includes a certificate of authenticity as well as a unique license plate.

It’s safe for kids ages 2-6 and up to 100 pounds. The unit moves along at 2 miles per hour both in forward and reverse. It’s powered by a rechargeable battery pack so your child can get hours of enjoyment zooming around the yard.

Pentax K20D Digital SLR Camera with Shake ReductionIt’s almost impossible to remember shooting a roll of film and then taking it in to be developed and printed. Digital cameras have really changed our life. Heck it’s almost impossible to find a cell phone that doesn’t have a camera built into it.

If you’re serious about digital photography though then you need mega pixels, as many as you can afford.

The Pentax K20D Digital SLR Camera with Shake Reduction and DA 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AL II Lens is a great choice for serious photography hobbyists.  It can record a 14.6 mega pixel image which means that you get amazing detail that you can blow up to almost any sized print.

Since the Pentax is a single lens reflex, (SLR) you can swap out different lens into the camera body. If you’re used to shooting with a traditional film SLR then moving to a digital will be almost completely intuitive. You can still see the same shutter speed and f-stop formulas.

This camera has a great shake reduction feature which really comes in handy when you’re trying to shoot something with a long lens or in low light. You can virtually eliminate any blurring.

Once you’ve captured the shot you can review it just by looking at the large 2.7” view screen.

One of the great things about this camera is that it uses SD/SDHC cards for memory. This means you can fit hundreds of full sized high quality images onto a tiny little chip. The cards are so small you can carry plenty of spares and never have to worry about running out of recording media.

  • The dust alert system is a really great innovative tool. The camera tells you when it’s getting dirty and just where you need to clean.
  • If you’re shooting action shots then this camera can handle up to 3 images per second.
  • Price of course is always a consideration. You get a lot of power and features at a good hobbyist price.

Dr Who The Five Doctors 25th Anniversary Edition 2008I am an avid Dr Who fan from way, way back. I have followed Dr Who since the days of William Hartnell.

So much of the early days were lost or incomplete because of incorrect storage at the time, especially many of the episodes starring Patrick Troughton.

As the doctors have changed over the years, so to have the doctors companions and the menacing aliens who are forever trying to enslave mankind, you know the ones I mean:

The Daleks, who were scary enough when I was a kid and who have now morphed into an even greater, more challenging enemy.

The Cybermen with their mindless, robotic threat to all and sundry – coldly logical.

And of course The Master, a renegade Time Lord and the nemesis of the Doctor.

With each series I am always a little concerned that the new doctor and any new companions won’t be up to the same standard as the previous ones. But I have to say I do like the new doctor ( David Tennant), and Rose is a hard act to follow.

I know that if someone gave me a boxed set of any of the series, I would be most appreciative. It’s good to see that the older series are being released on  DVD so if you have a friend who is a Dr Who fan these would make and ideal gift.

And of course there is a great range of Doctor Who books for the avid reader who is also a Dr who fan.

Actors who have played Dr Who are:

William Hartnell the first doctor 23 November 1963 – 29 October 1966
Patrick Troughton the second doctor 29 October 1966 – 21 June 1969
Jon Pertwee the third doctor 3 January 1970 – 8 June 1974
Tom Baker the fourth doctor 8 June 1974 – 21 March 1981
Peter Davison the fifth doctor 21 March 1981 – 16 March 1984
Colin Baker the sixth doctor 16 March 1984 – 6 December 1986
Sylvester McCoy the seventh doctor 7 September 1987 – 6 December 1989 & the May 1996
Doctor Who television movie
Paul McGann the eighth doctor 27 May 1996 in the Doctor Who television movie
Christopher Eccleston the ninth doctor 26 March – 18 June 2005
David Tennant the tenth doctor 18 June 2005 – early 2010
Matt Smith the eleventh doctor 2010 -

Garmin Nuvi 760 Widescreen Bluetooth GPSIt’s  so easy to get around these days without having to be bothered with maps.

What was once reserved solely for military smart weapons, GPS units can now be had for just a few dollars.

These versatile units have come a long way from just providing latitude and longitude. Now you can get real time traffic updates to avoid any freeway jams.

With so many different GPS choices and features available it can be a bit daunting to find the right unit for you.

The Garmin nüvi 760 4.3-Inch Widescreen Bluetooth Portable GPS Automobile Navigator is chock full of features that can help ease any commute as well as find your way to a destination on the other side of the country.

What makes this GPS unit different is that the receiver can be carried in your pocket. You can just pop the unit off the window and not have to worry about it getting stolen.

Having a portable unit pays off in another way.   I have a tendency to arrive at the supermarket, rush off and forget to take note of where I have parked the car and end up going up and down the aisles until I find it.  S o if you’re like me   when you are out shopping and forget where your car is parked, the Garmin has a “where’s my car?” feature.  Just tap a button and follow the directions.  How cool is that! and you will never have to admit to anyone that you lost your car, because in future -you won’t.

What We Like:

  • The biggest selling point for the 760 is the multi-route planning. With gas prices being so high anything that can help us save a few bucks at the pump is greatly appreciated. With the multi route planner you can input all your destinations and the unit will calculate the most efficient travel route.
  • Real time traffic updates are available with a subscription.  The unit automatically tunes in to traffic channels and can suggest alternate routes to avoid wrecks and traffic jams.

The biggest selling feature though is that this unit can be fully integrated with your other mobile devices. You can use the touch screen to input a phone number and then make calls using your Bluetooth headset.

BUY NOW and never lose your way again.
