I had never really heard of Tankard until the last few years. I started listening to some other German thrash bands and decided to give this one a shot.
I almost agree with one of the other reviewers who claims this is on par with "Reign In Blood". I have listened to Beast of Bourbon many times since buying it and each time, there is something new to appreciate. Each song is very thrashy, but still catchy. There is some excellent guitar and drum work on here. The lyrics may be my favorite part because the band doesn't do the cliched lyrics that most thrash bands repeat ad nauseam. Tankard mainly addresses drinking beer, aliens, and anal fisting. Great entertainment. The production on this cd is also excellent. Fantastic album, I just wish these cds were more readily available in America so they would be reasonably priced.
In summary: great cd. Enjoy. |
ONE OF THE BEST THRASH ALBUMS....EVER!!!!!! no joke

| Seriously, this is on the level of a "Reign In Blood". I'm not even joking folks. Too bad this album has such bad distribution. Why does garbage like the new Death Angel and latest Anthrax releases get all this coverage but this doesn't? The metal scene was never fair. Anyway...get this and be pulverized into tiny bits! Non-stop catchy thrash songs with amazing vocals and lots of aggression. Nothing weak about this at all. Yep...TANKARD, folks. No joke. |

surprisingly good and fast music cd. headbanging thrash/speed.
as always Tankard brings us exciting guitar 'melodies'.
no favorites, all tracks are excellent. the drumming is awesome too.
bears similarities of kreator's 2001 and 2005 cd's or vice versa in music patterns.

Outstanding CD- powerful guitars and drumming, production is awesome. Interesting (and comical songwriting). True headbanging masterpiece.
Only by listening to it, you'll appreciate what true heavy thrash is. |

| I haven't been into anything Tankard has done since 'The Morning After'. I have heard their other releases, but they just seemed generic. 'Beast of Bourbon' actually seems inspired. It has a great production and is some very fine modern day thrash. They have the same sound they always did, but it never sounded so good. |
