Any temperature lower than this and your fish will become lethargic.

Another thing to consider is the Ph level of the water.  This is the measure of whether the water is acid or alkaline.  The ideal Ph for your Betta fish is around 7.1 although they can tolerate moderate variations. Make sure you check the Ph level of the water regularly.
