stargate-zat-gunI love this! We just came back from a Stargate Convention in Vancouver. They were selling the usual t-shirts, posters, prints, dvd’s etc but there was no sign of a Stargate SG1 Zat Gun. Probably just as well, as I would have bought one on the spot.

If you haven’t been to a convention yet, then it is well worth it. We aren’t crazy Stargate fans (well actually we are) and we love the show and thought it would be a great fun to attend. You get to meet many of the stars of the show, get their autographs and even have your photo taken with them if you want to pay a bit extra – which we did. Hey this is may well be a once in a lifetime event for us.

We also went on a tour of the set of both Stargate Sg1 and Stargate Atlantis at Bridge Studios. That would have to have been the highlight of the convention. Martin Gero who is one of the producers/writers took us around the set and we got to have our photo taken in front of the Stargate Sg1 Iris with two of the minor stars of the show.

It was lots of fun and well worth attending.

But back to the Zat Gun. Being an avid Stargate fan I know what I will be asking for for Christmas this year.

Just imagine having your own  Stargate SG1 Zat Gun Kit to put together and personalise to how you would like it.

This kit builds the ZAT gun in the closed position and includes two solid resin parts and comes complete in a photo box with instructions.

Prop kits shown are 1:1 scale highly detailed replicas of actual props used in the films or shows. Many are casts of actual screen-used prop weapons. Others are based on the actual weapons used by the prop makers with the proper modifications. All kits are cast in heavy solid white durable resin and come in full color boxes picturing the finished prop. Instructions and any hardware or labels required are also included.

A little kit building experience is helpful for assembling and finishing the prop, but not necessary. One thing to remember is that although the finished zat gun looks very authentic, these are only resin prop guns and cannot be made to fire anything.

Trust me,  a Zat Gun is an absolute must have for fans and collectors. So if you have a Stargate SG1 fan in your household they will love you for life if you get them a Zat gun to add to their collection.

I can’t think of anything much better than arriving at a Stargate Convention dressed up as a Jaffa Warrior complete with Zat Gun.

stargate-action-figureRecently, Paula and I attended the Stargate Convention in Vancouver where we met stars of the show and mingled with many other fans from all over the world.

We visited the Stargate movie set at the Bridge St Movie Lot which was very exciting and we were taken to both the Stargate SG1 and the Stargate Atlantis sets where we  had photos taken in front of the SG1 gate.

The merchandising was pretty incredible and because we were travelling we had to be content at the time, simply to look.

Now that we are at home we are able to purchase action figures, posters and comics online.
